Six brand new plays will be written, cast, rehearsed and performed at the American Airlines Theatre in a single day, featuring an all-new, all-star line up of 24 performers, six writers, six directors and a musical guest.

Proceeds from The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway benefit Urban Arts Partnership, a not for profit organization that advances the intellectual, artistic, and social development of underserved public school students through arts-integrated education programs to close the achievement gap. Urban Arts’ proven effective programs support teachers, students and families by making the arts central to the learning process both inside and outside of the classroom for 65 Title I (low-income) schools across New York City.

Veterans Day – 11/11

Megan Fox posted a new photo on her facebook page of her and a bunch of Veterans on Veterans Day 11/11/11 with a message below.

I had the pleasure of meeting with some of our veterans today. These men and women are smart strong and capable. Their stories are powerful and their drive and determination to continue positively contributing to their communities and to our country is inspiring and has left me humbled.
Those who have served and those who continue to serve in our military are real life heros, they’ve defended our right to freedom with their own lives and they ask for nothing in return. I left today asking myself “what have you done lately?”

Lionsgate Nabs ‘Friends With Kids’

Lionsgate says it has acquired Red Granite Pictures’ “Friends with Kids,” which recently screened at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.

The announcement was made Wednesday jointly by Steve Beeks, Lionsgate’s president and co-chief operating officer; Joe Drake, co-chief operating officer and motion picture group president; and Jason Constantine, president of acquisitions and co-productions.

The film is Jennifer Westfeldt’s directorial debut, following the two critically acclaimed independent films she previously wrote and starred in — “Kissing Jessica Stein” and “Ira & Abby.”

Westfeldt co-stars in “Kids” with Adam Scott, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox and Edward Burns.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to be working with the great teams at Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions on the release of ‘Friends with Kids,'” Westfeldt said in a statement. “Their passion for the project and the subject matter, along with their commitment to finding a broad audience for our film, make them the dream partners for us.”

Leslie Mann: “Megan Fox Is Hilarious”

We don’t know too much about Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up” spin-off movie project, other than the fact that it centers around lovable/slightly dysfunctional couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), a few years after the events that occur in the Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen pregnancy comedy. Also, if we know one thing about Apatow comedies, it is more than likely that a slew of famous faces will appear in the film, be it in a supporting or cameo role.

Apatow has been cagey about revealing any more casting or cameo details, but one interesting addition that was actually announced back in March is Megan Fox, and although we don’t yet know who she plays in the film, star Leslie Mann assured us that she is a welcome addition to the cast.

“Megan Fox is so funny,” she told us Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Change-Up.” “She’s hilarious. You wouldn’t, I don’t know if other people [expect it], but I think she’s really funny, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

So who does she play in the film?

“I can’t say that part,” she said with a smile, backing up her husband’s comments earlier this year regarding spoilers.

“The rest is a secret because it doesn’t come out until 2012 and if you already knew what it was about for a year and a half, you wouldn’t even want to see it,” he told us. “There will be people who are really interesting in the movie,” he teased. “And some familiar people who are in the movie.”

‘Friends With Kids’ Will Premiere At TIFF 2011

It was announced on the 26th of July that Megan Fox’s upcoming movie ‘Friends With Kids’ will premiere at this years Toronto International Film Festival. I don’t know the exact date it will premiere but once I find out I will let you guys know via facebook; however TIFF will begin September 8th and will continue for 11 days.
