‘Ninja Turtles’ Gets A New Release Date

TMNT

Paramount Pictures have today announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, Ninja Turtles, will no longer be released on May 16th, 2014. It will instead open in theatres THREE WEEKS LATER on June 6th, 2014. Not a huge delay by any means, but no specific reason for the shift has been revealed. Its major competition now is Jurassic Park 4 which is set to be released the following week. Michael Bay is producing the Jonathan Liebesman helmed movie which will see the turtles brought to life with the use of motion capture CGI. Megan Fox is currently the only confirmed cast member.

Megan Fox Lands Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Role

Looks like Megan Fox and Michael Bay have made up. Tubular!

Bay posted today on his website, “TMNT: We are bringing Megan Fox back into the family,” thereby revealing that he would be working once again with his original Transformers leading lady on the upcoming live-action-CGI-hybrid Ninja Turtles, the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action flick that he is coproducing.

Their fanboygasm of a reunion comes close to three years after she left the billion-dollar Transformers franchise, supposedly because of her infamous comment comparing Bay’s directing style to Hitler’s rule.

Bay “wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So, he’s a nightmare to work for,” Fox told Wonderland magazine in 2010, after which Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was cast in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The director cracked to GQ the following year that producer Steven Spielberg was the one who said to get rid of Fox ASAP because of “you know, the Hitler thing.”

But apparently that whole Michael Bay-Megan Fox thing is water under the bridge.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox will play the Turtles’ best human pal, April O’Neil, in Paramount’s Ninja Turtles, which is supposed to be based on the original TMNT comic book series that debuted in 1984.

Wrath of the Titans helmer Jonathan Liebesman is onboard to direct.

Meanwhile, Fox obviously isn’t done with acting quite yet. The new mom said in the March issue of Marie Claire U.K.: “It’s very hard for me to do stuff, because I feel like it isn’t my job anymore. My job is to be with [my son, Noah].”
